Yuksel Seeds invests in flavour and differentiation to offer varieties that meet consumer and producer expectations
An example of its commitment to flavour is Cassarosa®, the rose ribbed tomato, winner of the Flavour of the Year 2022 seal, chosen by Spanish consumers for its unmistakable flavour and aroma.
Standing out in a wide catalogue of taste varieties is Sambalino, a chocolate-coloured cherry pear. The variety is very productive and homogeneous.
In the Beef tomato segment, the company has unveiled its new Azarbe variety, characterised by excellent conservation, bright red fruits, good flavour and great productivity.
New in the cucumber segment are Boracay and Bagatao, two Beta-Alpha Mini varieties offering great productivity and good set in hot (Bagatao) and cold (Boracay) conditions.
Next year, the company will present its new variety of Dutch cucumber, with resistance to CGMMV, which is currently in the pre-commercial phase.
Outstanding varieties
Francisco Sabio, director of Yuksel Seeds in Spain and Portugal, said that during the last campaign, the company grew in pear tomato segment with exports of its Marcus variety. Exporting companies recommend this variety for its high post-harvest quality and absence of peaks. In addition, Marcus provides the producer with homogeneity throughout the cycle.
Leroxy, a rose tomato traditional type of tomato has also seen good growth, thanks to its organoleptic qualities and good conservation.
