UNICA focuses on washed and cut mini fresh snacks, combined with healthy dips
UNICA will attend this year’s Fruit Attraction with a wide range of innovative products that will offer healthy solutions to the needs of its customers. In recent months, the firm has made significant investments in its convenience range facilities.
A high percentage of European consumers would buy more fruit and vegetables if they were available in snack format. That is why UNICA is committed to its mini fresh snacks (washed and cut, ready to eat), ideal for combining with vegetable spreads, another trend on the rise. At the moment, the products to be exhibited at the fair will be carrot sticks, snack cucumber, cherry tomato, sweet Palermo pepper, Crü sweet raw courgette and the first purple broccoli sprout, Redi.
As for spreadable sauces, UNICA will launch tzatziki dips (yogurt and cucumber) and chickpea hummus to combine with snacks in ready-to-eat formats. This project is the result of collaboration with UNICA’s partner, Vegetales Línea Verde, through its company Productos Naturales de la Vega, Naturvega.
Healthy vending machine snacks will be presented at the fair, with the idea of implementing the concept in schools, hospitals and health centres to highlight the saturation of unhealthy products usually consumed in such environments. Sustainability is another key area in which UNICA has been working for years. Hence, the packaging of these washed and ready-to-eat snacks is OK Compost HOME (biodegradable), in the case of the bags, and rPET, for the cups.
