Taiwan Agricultural Week, expected to attract 12,000 industry professionals

Taking place between 21st and 23rd November, Taiwan Agriculture Week is the country’s only international exhibition for refined agriculture. This year’s event will feature four expo areas: TFVE Food & Vegetable Show, AGRITECH Agriculture Technology Expo, TFEX Flower Expo, and TCCE Cold Chain Expo. The event will take place within the Taiwan International Fisheries & Seafood Show in Kaohsiung, in the south of the country. A total of 400 exhibitors will participate across an area of 12,000 square metres, and attract an estimated 12,000 professionals from over 50 countries. The 2017 event produced excellent results, with exhibitors from 13 countries setting up 309 booths, and attracting 4,628 buyers and professionals from 17 countries. Business generated during the event is estimated at US$15 million.

Taiwan has temperate, subtropical, and tropical climates, a wide variety of crops, and internationally renowned agricultural technologies in the fields of seed cultivation and variety improvement. Cooperation with other Asia-Pacific countries is being developed to deliver turnkey solutions for fertiliser, agricultural materials, agricultural machinery, and greenhouse technologies. At this year’s event, professionals from Taiwan and abroad will be invited to attend the International Forum on Food Safety and New Agriculture. Travel subsidies of US$300 have been offered to 300 overseas buyers to take part in the event. Online negotiations between buyers and exhibitors will also be set up through a specially designed app created by the organiser. Taiwan Agriculture Week is a platform to introduce Taiwan’s refined agriculture to buyers from around the world.
