Spanish food inflation hits 13.8% in August

In Spain, the cost of food and non-alcoholic drinks was 13.8% higher in August 2022 compared to the same month in 2021, the highest ever recorded growth, and 0.5% higher than in the previous month… The prices of milk, cheese and eggs grew the most,, according to data from the Consumer Price Index (CPI), provided by the National Institute of Statistics (INE).
Overall consumer price inflation stood at 10.5% in August, according to the INE, which is slightly lower than in July (10.8%).
