South Koreans shift to frozen produce as fresh prices rocket

Soaring grocery prices are driving South Korean consumers to turn to frozen food and use discount schemes offered by retailers. Agriculture, livestock and fishery prices were up by 9.7% in July from the same period in 2020. Spinach prices were among the most affected products. According to the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation, the wholesale price of spinach has risen by 92% in the last year.
