Smurfit Kappa scoops 13 Worldstar Awards for its innovative and sustainable packaging
Smurfit Kappa, one of the largest integrated paper packaging manufacturers in the world, with operations in Europe and America, won 13 awards at the Worldstar Global Packaging Awards 2022 for its innovative and sustainable packaging solutions. The prizes will be presented at a ceremony in Milan in May.
The Smurfit Kappa solutions to receive the maximum recognition in 2022 edition of the awards include a revolutionary packaging for transporting fresh fish. In the beverages category, its novel Sustainable Topclip packaging offers a sustainable alternative to the retractable film used for cans, and is part of the firm’s Better Planet Packaging portfolio that has raised great interest among companies wishing to reduce their carbon footprints.
The jury also recognised the experience of Smurfit Kappa in the ecommerce sector, where the firm scooped two awards for its ingenious packing for Geneva and the novel ‘The BeeeerBox’, a one-piece conditioner for three bottles or cans.
In the Point of Sale category, Smurfit Kappa was recognised for its packaging for wine: ‘Winoteka Netto’, a display stand made of corrugated cardboard that includes bags and sustainable baskets with an attractive design.
