Smart facilities and equipment to highlight the latest trend of agriculture development

The global population will grow to 9 billion in 2050, but the rate of food production lags far behind the rate of population growth. In response to upcoming food crisis and extreme climate, governments all over the world have invested in high-efficiency intensive agriculture, upgrading agricultural technology, developing high-quality stress-resistant crop varieties, innovative technologies, plus intelligent agricultural facilities and equipment to increase food production.

In agriculture development, Taiwan has three advantages. First, it has temperate, subtropical, and tropical climate, a wide variety of agricultural crops, animal husbandry, and fisheries, and it has developed agricultural technologies for three climate zones with every crop one can expect.

Second, Taiwan has talents and technologies, and has received international recognitions for seed cultivation, variety improvement, animal vaccines, agricultural machinery, and aquaculture technologies, such as groupers.

Third, the government is actively integrating and planning marketing items, including vegetables, fruits, flowers, seedlings, and processed agricultural products. It is also stepping up agricultural cooperation with Asia-Pacific countries and delivers turnkey solutions for fertilizer, agricultural materials, agricultural machinery, and greenhouse technologies.

“Turn Smart” is the central theme The Agriculture Week 2018, organized by My Exhibition Co., Ltd., will demonstrate to the world the advance development of refined agriculture in Taiwan. The show this year will feature four themes: TFVE Food & Vegetable Show, AGRITECH Agriculture Technology Expo, TFEX Flower Expo, and TCCE Cold Chain Expo.“TURN SMART” is the central theme of the 2018 event, which will be held at the same time as the 2018 Taiwan International Fisheries & Seafood Show on November 21-23 at Kaohsiung Exhibition Center.

The event will also showcase various theme pavilions, including: “Smart Environmental Control Greenhouse,” “Innovative Export Agricultural Machinery,” “Drone Agricultural Application,” “Exquisite Taiwan Fruit and Vegetable Brand,” “Taiwan Export Flower Boutique,” “Frozen Food Logistics Solution,” and “Friendly Environment Sustainable Agriculture.”This year’s exhibition specifically understands the needs of the industry and has invited agricultural-related groups, local and overseas agricultural institutes and experts to stage a series of forums and seminars.

They include “Tropical and Subtropical Greenhouse Environmental Control and Cultivation Management Forum” to be held by the Taiwan Agricultural Structure Association; “United States Agricultural Special Products — Marketing Forum on Trends and Business Opportunities” by the U.S. Department of Agriculture; “Food Safety and Frozen Food Best Service Chain Integration Solution” by Taiwan Global Business Operations Development Association and HACCP Food Safety Control System Development Association, and “Botanic Plants Success” seminar by Taiwan Botanic Plant Industry Development Association.

The organizer has also invited the Biotechnology Industry Research Center of the Taiwan Economic Research Institute to hold an “International Forum on Agricultural Innovation and Technology Preview” at the Kaohsiung Exhibition Center on November 20.Record number of visitors expected

There will be other events including innovative product technology presentations, vegetable and food shows and one-on-one procurement fairs for domestic and foreign exhibitors and buyers.

The event last year gained excellent results with exhibitors from 13 countries setting up 309 booths, which attracted 4,628 buyers and professionals from 17 countries around the world.

This year, together with the fisheries show, the two events are expected to attract a total of 400 exhibitors who will use more than 12,000 m2 of exhibition space. More than 12,000 professionals from over 50 countries are expected to attend the two events.
