Second-class Andalusian aubergines return to the market

The Board of Directors of the Interprofessional Organisation of Fruits and Vegetables of Andalusia, HORTYFRUTA, has met again to monitor the situation of the long-black aubergine, due to a red alert last week when second-class aubergines were no longer being marketed.

After carrying out a rigorous analysis, HORTYFRUTA has decided to deactivate the Extension of the Standard of quality after the favourable developments seen in the past days in the market situation for long-black aubergines.

Therefore, as of November 8, second-class categories of this vegetable will be marketed again for fresh consumption by all the producer and marketer operators in Andalusia.

HORTYFRUTA will continue analysing the market situation for the products it covers and will assess the measures to be taken for each product.
