Russia continues harvesting cucurbits crop

Russian agrarians have harvested 619.200 tons of cucurbits by the end of November, which is slight more than in 2021 (+3.4%), informs the Ministry for Agriculture. The increase has resulted out of the expansion of cultivation area and the modernisation of production technologies. Total crop by the end of the year is expected as 640,000 tons.
Basic cucurbits crop grown in the country are watermelon, pumpkin and melon. They are mainly grown in Krasnodar, Astrakhan and Volgograd regions.
It is remarkable that Georgiy Krukov from Orenburg city grew a 400-kilo pumpkin. Last year his record pumpkin weighted 200 kilo.
