Rijk Zwaan brings ‘colourful life’ to Bangkok
Key trends and developments in the melon category will be examined during an event hosted by Rijk Zwaan near Bangkok on 1 November, the day before Asia Fruit Logistica opens its doors. The day-long event begins with a tour of the Wasana Melon Farm, located close to the Thai capital. This will be followed by a seminar featuring a range of industry experts, who will share their insights on relevant production, sales and marketing trends for the melon category in Asia.
Rijk Zwaan will also be presenting its broad range of melon and watermelon varieties, including those that have been specifically developed for the Asian market.
“It is the ideal opportunity for our Asian partners to enrich their knowledge and expand their network,” according to a media release from Rijk Zwaan.
The leading breeding company will showcase a range of “bright, healthy and inspiring” fruit and vegetables at its stand across the three-day trade show – being held on 2-4 November at Bangkok’s Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre.
These include the yellow-flesh watermelon Tropical Sunshine, the debut of the orange-flesh Quincy melon variety Fujisawa, the pink tomato Kawaguchi, the four colours of Sweet Palermo peppers range, SN!BS snacking vegetables, and the company’s range of Salanova lettuces.
“Each of these innovations can contribute to successful category growth for retailers, traders and other partners in Asia,” according to the release.
The theme for Rijk Zwaan’s stand will be ‘colourful life’.
