PotatoEurope 2021 promises to provide insights into current developments in the potato industry as well as a look at the future of the sector. The event will be held from 1-2 September at the Wageningen University & Research (WUR) Field Crops in Lelystad, in the Dutch province of Flevoland, and will feature the theme “What’s Now, What’s New and What’s the Future”. In “What’s New”, participating companies will shine the spotlight on their latest products and services. PotatoEurope 2021 offers several platforms to do so, such as inside and outside exhibition areas and dynamic live demonstrations. There will also be part of the programme organised by regional development agency Horizon Flevoland called ‘Innovation in the potato chain from Dutch soil’. Further showcasing of the exhibitors’ novel products comes in the shape of the PotatoEurope 2021 Innovation Award. The scientific symposium “The Potato in a Changing World”, organised by Wageningen University & Research (WUR), will explore the question of “What’s the Future?” “The future of potato cultivation and the potato in a changing world will certainly be discussed,” said WUR Business Manager of Field Crops Chris de Visser. A high-quality scientific congress can be expected.
