In the 2021 campaign, FAS Warsaw forecasts Poland’s total cherry production at 213,000 tons, consisting of 165,000 tons of sour cherries and 48,000 tons of sweet cherries. This represents an increase of 6% from the previous season, thanks to the use of more productive varieties and technologies. Of this total about 200,000 tons of cherries are projected to be channelled into the processing industry, which represents 10% more than in the 2020 campaign. Meanwhile, the country’s peach production is expected to rise by 1.2% Y-O-Y in 2021 to 8,600 tons.
