Peru’s blueberry exports soar by 48% to US$356 million
In just five years, Peru has seen its exports of blueberries increase one thousand fold making it one of the world’s leading exporters of the superfood. On average, the country’s exporters are earning US$8.33 per kilo. Between 2016 and 2017 alone, exports rose by 48% to reach US$356 million.
Peru exports blueberries to 24 countries across the world, but the US’s insatiable demand for blueberries makes it the leading market for these shipments. Peru has 52 companies that export agricultural produce, the leading ones being TALSA and Camposol SA. Peru’s portfolio of agricultural exports features over 200 products.
