Exports of Morocco’s tomatoes to the EU under quota began on October 1 (Week 40) and continue until April 20. The total quota for the 2017/18 campaign amounts to 285,000 tons, maintaining the figure of the previous season. The quantities of tomato entering the EU under quota in Weeks 48 and 49 are 15% higher than during the same period last year. However, the stocks accumulated since Week 40 are very similar to the volumes seen in the last campaign. The share of Moroccan tomatoes supplied to the EU are as follows: Long-life tomato: 21%, pear tomato: 11%, ribbed tomato: 11%, vine tomato: 9%, smooth tomato: 1%.
