Mexico consolidates position as world’s largest avocado exporter

Mexico has retained the title of the world’s leading avocado exporter, while the US is the leading importer. This is the finding of a recent Rabobank study, which  reports that Mexico currently accounts for 30% of global avocado production, thanks to a 6% increase over the past decade. Mexico’s climate allows for year-round production, with seasonal lows in June and July. This decline in supply coincides with the peak production periods of the US and Peru, ensuring a consistent avocado supply to the US market.
