Logofruits expects to supply 1,400 tons of blueberries in 2024
Around 145ha of modern varieties have been put into production, as well as a modern packhouse using Tomra Fresh technology. Logofruits blueberries are available for 8 months of the year (December to July). The firm has 70ha of open-air plantations located in Alcacer-do-Sal, for harvesting between April and July, with Fall Creek varieties Blue Rubbon and Suziblue. Another 75ha of plantations under plastic tunnels are located near Odemira, for a harvest that takes place between December and July, with Planasa “club” varieties. “We hope to offer more than 1,400 tons of commercial blueberries in 2024,” said CEO Lourenço Botton. Northern Europe is currently the main market (e.g. France, Germany, UK and the Nordics). Logofruits already complies with all the required certifications of major retailers such as GLOBALGAP, GRASP, and Tesco Nurture. Behind Logofruits is the Botton family, with businesses in various sectors like plastics (Logoplaste), hospitality, ceramics, real estate, venture capital and agriculture (wine, olive oil).
