Leafy vegetable production limited by heat wave

The current heat wave and drought across Germany are causing problems for producing quality leafy vegetables. Although crop yields in the south and west appear to be rising again after a drop, overall, the country’s production will remain limited due to the heat. In Week 29, there were no significant changes at the retail level. Sales and consumer prices rose slightly. AMI reports that in Week 30, there were campaigns offering particularly low promotional prices of leafy vegetables in several retail chains.
