World production in the 2023/24 campaign is forecast up by 827,000 tons to 25.0 million as good growing conditions boost output in China and the European Union, according to the latest USDA report. Exports are projected up 62,000 tons to 874,000 as EU shipments rebound on recovering supplies in Spain. Greater shipments to Iraq and Kazakhstan are expected to raise imports by 21,000 tons to 852,000.
