La Caña Group brings its organic produce to BioFach 2023
Motril, February, 2023. – For companies producing and marketing in the agri-food sector, international food fairs are the best way to publicise their latest launches and new products while expanding their commercial horizons. Bio Fach (Nuremberg) in particular is one of the essential meeting points for professionals in this sector, having established itself for years as the largest international BIO food fair in Europe.
La Caña Group is finalising the preparations for its participation in this year’s fair to be held in Messe Nuremberg from February 14 to 17. It will once again have its own stand (5-361) in Hall 5, together with the other producers from Andalusia, managed by EXTENDA (Andalusian Agency for External Promotion).
Far from being a fleeting fad, the consumption rate of organic products is growing steadily in Europe. For this reason, at La Caña Group, always striving to stay at the forefront of market trends, we remain firmly committed to positioning our BIO CAÑA brand on the international circuit.
The Granada-based company, whose organic production on the east coast of Andalusia now extends to 550 hectares of horticultural and tropical fruits, seeks to showcase the dedication and commitment of its organic section to customers and potential buyers. Its sales manager for organic production, Beatriz García, points out that it has had “remarkable growth since last season, having closed 2023 with an organic production of 18 million kilos marketed, which drives us to strive to continue responding to our customers.”
Regarding the products that generate the most interest among its customers, for La Caña Group, “the Dutch cucumber continues to be the product that generates the highest demand, reaching 12 million kilograms, followed by zucchini, a relatively new line of work that has allowed us to expand our portfolio beyond the already established cherry tomato, pear cherry tomato, canile and branch tomato, and California pepper. Not to mention the tropical fruits like the locally produced mango and avocado. Beatriz Garcia points out.
Although the boom for organic and ecological products is widespread across the Old Continent, “the main market focus for us is in Central Europe, with countries such as Germany, Netherlands, Switzerland and Austria showing the highest demand. England and Denmark are also especially strategic markets for our company. ”
La Caña Group is committed to its organic production as part of a work philosophy that values sustainability and the circular economy, reinforced in 2022 by the launch of its specialised organic production centre in El Ejido (Almeria).
