Kiwi industry joins forces to boost global consumption

At the 42nd convention of the International Kiwifruit Organization (IKO), which took place in Chile in mid-September, producing and exporting countries came together to analyse the current state of the global industry and to seek solutions to issues through cooperation. Argentina and Brazil participated for the first time.
The challenges are many. Europe must renew some old orchards, particularly in Italy, which has been hit by disease. Greece is growing strongly in volumes of green kiwi, but lacks sufficient refrigeration infrastructure to cope.
