India’s exports of potatoes for processing surge by over 40%

Between January and September 2022, India exported about 153,000 tons of fresh or refrigerated potatoes suitable for the production of potato chips. This is an increase of about 42% compared with the same period last year. The peak this season was reached in March, when approximately 27,000 tons were shipped overseas, followed by June (source: potatopro.com).
The top destination for exports of fresh or refrigerated potatoes from India in 2022 was Oman, with 35,000 tons, up 16%), followed by Kuwait, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam and Hong Kong.
