High Valencia volumes for Jupiter
The Group have now moved into harvesting their premium Midknight variety oranges after a bumper Turkey Valencia crop 25%+ up on volume expectations.
Harvesting through to WEEK 37, Jupiter will process their South African citrus through their state-of-the-art packhouse located on farm in Maswiri.
Washing system installed
Always looking for ways to improve their already market leading practices, Jupiter Group have recently overseen the installation of a new high pressure wash system, to add to their ten lane GREEFA SmartSort and Wetline installed in 2019.
The wash system, in its inaugural season, enables a more effective debris cleaning process which will in-turn further increase the percentage of packable fruit and improve the presentation of the product.
Shipping WEEK 39
Following the Turkey and Benny Valencias harvest completion, the Midknights and then Deltas will continue to harvest through to shipping in WEEK 39.
Jupiter’s Head of Sales, Gareth Wilcock said: “We’re in a positive position with our high quality and higher than anticipated yield of Valencias. The reports from farm are excellent and the fruit internals are looking fantastic too.
It’s been great to see the dedication on farm this season as they manage the 2022 harvest alongside the 2023 preparations. We are now working closely with our global customer base to export the fruit to the right markets before focusing on our Greek Grape season ahead.”
