Grupo Primafrio ranked among world’s top-6 logistics firms for ESG rating
Grupo Primafrio, one of Europe’s leading refrigerated infrastructure and logistics operators, has increased its ESG (Environment, Social & Governance) score, becoming the sixth best company globally according to the ESG Risk Rating prepared by Sustainalytics.
Grupo Primafrio’s total score in this rating was 12.8 points. With this assessment, the company is three points below its 2021 level, and two points away from becoming a zero-risk company. In addition, taking into account only the industries of the transportation sector, Primafrio is ranked number 2 out of 360 companies.
According to Adrián Valverde, director of R&D&i and ESG at Grupo Primafrio, “this award recognises the effort and work that we carry out on a daily basis in Grupo Primafrio to contribute to meeting the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the GRI standard and showing leadership in environmental innovation. This encourages us to continue focusing on our ESG strategy to continue leading the logistics and transport sector to tackling the new challenges required to be sustainable over time.”
Primofrio adheres to initiatives such as Lean & Green, which has the objective of reducing emissions by 20% within a period of five years. It has obtained the Technological Fleet Accreditation granted by AEGFA (Spanish Association of Automobile Fleet Managers) and co-founded the new Sectoral Association of Green Hydrogen in the Region of Murcia (AHMUR). The firm supports Mesoamerican Biodiversity (BPM) and is heading towards an ecological transition that encourages the use of more sustainable energy sources, the decarbonisation of the logistics and transport sector, and the neutralisation of emissions in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
