For the 20th year, Golden Autumn Fair took place in Moscow this October. The Fair is one of the leading events of the sector in Russia; it combines the exhibition of farmers’ achievements and business program where the participants discuss the prospective of the agricultural development. During the opening ceremony, Dmitry Medvedev, Russian prime minister, welcomed the participants – agricultural operators from 49 Russian regions and 14 foreign countries. For the first time, Japan joined in as a partner country.
This year’s tendencies were the focus on participants’ export potential and the visitors’ demand for the equipment modernisation.
“We observed the interest for the sector of washed, peeled and cut vegetables: cucumbers, onion, carrot, capsicum, etc.,” said Roman Nuriev, commercial director of Interagro Company (projects development). “A new segment is the processing of chili and hapaleno peppers.”
