Girteka Logistics doubles fleet size and cuts CO2 emissions
The transportation company has announced the 2021 results of its freight division, which managed to carry double the number of full truckloads (FTL) compared to 2020, saving over 14.4 million kg of CO2 emissions. Also, Girteka Logistics’ customers have the option to complete first and/or last-mile deliveries by using hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) or HVO100 fuel, further reducing the CO2 emissions generated by the whole process. The logistics provider has stressed that growth, particularly rail freight services to and from the UK, will be one of its main priorities in 2022. Overall, Girteka Logistics plans to increase the number of FTLs carried by intermodal rail transport by 50% in the coming year. With 25 years of experience, Girteka Logistics operates a fleet of over 8,000 trucks and 8,700 trailers.
