FruitvegetablesEUROPE General Assembly to be held on 14th & 15th March 2019 in Warsaw
The next General Assembly of FruitvegetablesEUROPE (formerly EUCOFEL) will be held on 14th & 15th March 2019 in Warsaw, Poland. Titled, “CULTIVATING THE TASTE OF EUROPE”, the event will be held and co-organised by HOTEL NOVOTEL. Day 1 will involve a tour of the Grojec-Warka region, followed by a field visit across the biggest orchard in Europe. This will include tours of apple orchards, greenhouse tomatoes and fruit warehouses. The day will conclude with a traditional Polish dinner. The second day will commence with the Annual General Assembly for members only. The first discussion will focus on “The EU Fruit and vegetables sector: a key sector for the EU agriculture”, and feature opening remarks from Juan Marín (FruitVegetablesEUROPE, President) and Witold Boguta (FruitVegetablesEUROPE, Vice-President, KZGPOiW). Next follows a political debate: The CAP Post-2021 Reform. What challenges and opportunities for the EU fruit and vegetables sector? Moderated by Alba R. Bouloumié (FruitVegetablesEUROPE, Secretary General). This will include a round table, featuring Jerzy PLEWA (EC, DG AGRI, Director General), Clara Aguilera (EP, Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development, Vice-Chair), Czesław Adam Siekierski (EP, Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development, Chair), Lucian Dumitru (Ministry of Agriculture), and other Polish authorities from the Ministry of Agriculture. The morning session will conclude with presentations on “Market Opportunities in China: access to market, challenges and opportunities for the EU fruit and vegetables companies”, delivered by Pablo Recio (F&B expert, EU SME CENTRE China) and “Fruit Attraction 2019: presentation of the FA2019 edition” by Raúl Calleja (Managing Director, FRUIT ATTRACTION, IFEMA). There will then follow tastings of Polish apples.
The afternoon session will commence with the FruitVegetablesEUROPE I&R FORUM 2019 focusing on Innovation and research: a key element for the EU fruit and vegetables sector success, featuring a roundtable including Laurent BERGÉ (President, Tomato & Cucumber from France), George FRANGISTAS (President, INCOFRUIT Hellas), Michal LACHOWICZ (President, La SAD, Member of the Board KZGPOiW), Juan COLOMINA (Director, APROA), Silvia CIFRE WIBROW (Country Management APE/S Spain), and Grzegorz CIESLINSKI (Poland).
There will be interpreting in English, Polish, French and Spanish.
