Fruit Attraction 2018 commits to protecting the intellectual, industrial and brand rights of exhibitors and visitors
Fruit Attraction is to launch ‘Against Copy’, a service that guarantees the intellectual, industrial and brand rights of exhibiting companies and professional visitors. A patent service will also be provided as well as information on the new Data Protection law. PONS IP will be responsible for the task. With Against Copy, ensures that the products and services it exhibits comply with current regulations. At the event, there will also be a location where participants can provide samples of boxes or copied products to bring to the attention of the sector.
A stand could be closed if the products exhibited were the object of a court ruling that called for their withdrawal from the market. This provides an added guaranteed value against possible conflicts between exhibiting companies and the other participants. Fruit Attraction’s director, Raúl Calleja, said,
“Against Copy is an added value service offered by IFEMA to the industry and the exhibitors of a Fair that will be one of the major events of the sector in southern Europe, bringing together more than 1,600 participating companies and more than 70,000 professional visitors from 120 countries around the world.”
Rocío Peris, PONS IP commercial director for Spain, said,
“For the peace of mind of the exhibitor, it is essential to have professional advice on such sensitive issues as industrial property and data protection. The new General Data Protection Regulation has produced many doubts as to how to implement it. Regarding the protection of intangible assets (patents, utility models, brands and industrial designs), we must know how to deal with possible offenders to avoid unpleasant surprises. To do this we recommend adequate protection strategy planning, taking into account the territorial markets of interest.”
