Food service sector in Russia, a controversial tendency

Saint Petersburg’s food service market lost 62.8% of its turnover in 2020, state the analytics of Infoline consulting agency. Moscow region’s market turnover decreased by 18%, whereas the Southern Federal region suffered the less thanks to affluent tourists flow last summer.
At the same time, new opening has been in progress along with the closure of old diners and total number of eating-places has increased by 8% in large Russian cities. Omni-channel operators were the best prepared for the crisis. Meanwhile the delivery segment has been also boosting. It has grown by 35% for last 5 years.
