Digital for Food: the new national alliance for the digitisation of the Spanish countryside
A new agri food tech platform has been created by Blocknitive and Singular Foods® to promote the digitisation of agri-food SMEs. The first action of Digital for Food is the launch of AGRŌOPASS, a blockchain-based traceability solution. With this technology, all members of the food supply chain are involved. The alliance remains open to other partners who want to drive change with exponential technologies such as blockchain, robotics, drones, augmented reality, self-learning, big data or AI.
With this project, both organisations will try to support SMEs in the agri-food sector, implementing digital solutions that help them optimise their production, commercial and/or logistics processes.
“With this new alliance, we are contributing to the necessary transformation process in this primary sector of the economy, as one of the objectives included in the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan and the development plans of the European Union itself,” said Miguel Peco Perea, director of business development at Blocknitive.
The new project arises from the growing need to digitise a sector that needs to reduce costs and be increasingly competitive. Digital for Food tries to facilitate access to cutting-edge technologies, and including the necessary advice to maximise its benefits.
“At Singular Foods we explore the advantages that technology offers to all the actors in the food product supply chain to streamline and automate processes that satisfy an increasingly demanding market,” said Antonio Barrera, founder and CEO of Singular Foods®.
