Derby bananas also organic

With 2-300 TEUs of exports weekly, Derby Rastoder is among the top-10 Ecuador exporters. “High container rates and high banana prices are affecting our business,” said Matjaz Strukelj, commercial manager at Rastoder’s head-office in Ljubljana (Slovenia). “We have also had to stop sending to some markets like in the Black Sea due to the inflated costs in the supply chain.” Derby also sources from Colombia and Costa Rica, mainly under programmes. The Slovenian firm’s main markets are in Europe, with one-third of volumes shipped to other destinations. Derby’s diversified range also includes organic bananas.
