The Colombian Agricultural Institute (ICA) and the Association of Banana Growers of Magdalena and Guajira (ASBAMA) have drawn up a joint plan to combat the Fusarium FocR4T fungus.
Teams of agronomists and agricultural technicians from the Colombian Agricultural Institute (ICA) will monitor plantations in the banana and plantain producing areas of the Colombian north coast region on a daily basis. All symptoms associated with Fusarium Race 4 Tropical will be reported so that samples can be obtained and corresponding measures taken. Checklists will be made after inspections and a report of the results generated.
