Carrefour to open dozens of supermarkets in Israel 

French supermarket chain Carrefour has announced it will open its first 50 stores across Israel this week, in a bid to increase its competitiveness in the Israeli market. Tel Aviv will see the opening of nine new branches, Herzliya four, Netanya four, Beersheba three, Ashdod three and Haifa three, in addition to dozens of others in smaller communities across the country. As many as 100 more stores are planned to be opened by the end of the year.
