AECOC promoting action against food waste
AECOC has launched the 2nd edition of the ‘Municipalities against food waste’ contest in Spain, sponsored by Grupo IFA, which will recognise the area with the best projects to prevent food waste and raise awareness among its citizens about the importance of taking advantage of food.
The contest is open to all city councils in the country with initiatives aimed at combating food waste between September 2022 and September 2023, such as activities in local markets and restaurants, school projects, reuse meals or raising awareness among citizens, among others.
To participate in the call, municipalities can submit their candidatures to the email foodwaste@aecoc.es, explaining their initiatives and attaching related information.
After receiving applications, AECOC will choose the three finalist proposals. The winner will be chosen by those attending the 11th Meeting Point against Food Waste, which the Association will organize on September 28 in Madrid.
