Merge of top food retailers is announced
Dixy merges with Krasnoye & Beloye
Beneficiaries of Dixy, one of top-5 largest Russian food retailers and two wine retailers Krasnoye & Beloye (Red & White) and Bristol are merging. As the results, the company will operate through 13,000 stores jointly and will become the third largest retailer chain in Russia (after X5 Group and Magnit).
Dixy is the 5th Russian food retailer in terms of receipt. Krasnoye & Beloye is a wine chain established by S. Studennikov from Chelyabinsk in 2006; it is one of top-10 retailers. Bristol is a wine shop too. It was founded in 2012 in Nizhniy Novgorod; currently there are more than 2,500 stores in 520 cities and towns.
It is remarkable that in spring 2015, Dixy bought the share of 31,8% of Bristol, but sold it by the end of the same year.
