Following the signing of an export agreement with China in 2017, with Argentinian company Berries Del Sol sent its first pallets of blueberries to the Far Eastern giant on November 20th. Although the export protocol was agreed in 2017, access was only formally provided in September. The first fruit to be sent is the Emerald variety of blueberry. The shipment was sent to Buenos Aires by road, then by air to Hong Kong. Its ultimate destination is Shenzhen in the south of China. The blueberries will be stored in a cold chamber during the 48-hour transit.
