Spain’s non-EU produce exports fall by 35%

Spanish exports of fresh fruits and vegetables outside Europe fell by 35% in volume from January to July 2023 compared to the same period in 2022, dropping to 169,735 tons. In value, the decline was 17%, standing at €246.9 million. These are the latest data published by the Department of Customs and Excise, processed by FEPEX. In particular, sales fell to Brazil (-9%), Canada (-55%), and the US (-13%).
Total Spanish fruit and vegetable exports until July 2023 stood at 7 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 8%, although in value terms, they rose by 8% to €10.88 million.
