30% drop in Italy’s table grape output

Renowned for its rich grape production, Italy is facing a significant drop in production (up to 30% less than in previous years) due to adverse weather conditions and diseases. Despite the decline in production, market dynamics have stabilized prices, offering a positive outlook for producers. 

Sicily had an unusual season last year, especially in terms of production, which started about two weeks later than usual. It generally begins in May with early greenhouse crops and ends in December with late varieties. This year, however, there is a big risk that production will end before the end of autumn, with a drop of at least 30%. This is certainly an underestimate compared to the same period last year. The trend will be identical for the other varieties.
