Esteban Guitirrez appointed Covirán’s new general manager
Esteban Gutiérrez has been named as the new General Director of the Covirán retail cooperative, in a double commitment to the stability and talent of its staff. Until now, Gutiérrez was in charge of supply chain management and he has been working at Covirán for 27 years.
Gutiérrez is an expert in the Food Distribution sector and, within Covirán, he has played practically all the roles inherent to the supply chain: from technical positions in the logistics area, through purchasing, provisioning and sales until reaching the department of fresh food and, later, the supply chain department, with a presence in the management committee for almost four years.
The president of Covirán, José Antonio Benito describes the appointment as a “trustworthy bet”, as not only for Gutiérrez’s “deep knowledge of the cooperative and the distribution market, given his extensive professional career, but also what he represents for the rest of the teams and colleagues, as well as his leadership capacity and his personal values.
Esteban Gutiérrez thanked the Governing Council for its confidence: “It is an honour and a privilege to assume this responsibility after a lifetime linked to Covirán. I want to thank the board for their support, which I will return with dedication and results.”
“My commitment,” he added, “is to increase the competitiveness of Covirán, through efficiency, consolidating the rate of growth and promoting the brand in the market: in short, a cooperative focused on its members.”
