Juan Tomás Cano elected president of HORTIESPAÑA
The Spanish interprofessional association of fruits and vegetables (HORTIESPAÑA) held its VII Ordinary General Assembly last week in which it was unanimously decided to elect Juan Tomás Cano Aguilera as the new president of the organisation. Francisco Góngora Cañizares, who has been the highest representative of HORTIESPAÑA since its founding in 2015, leaves his position and gives way to Cano.
“I appreciate the great work carried out by Francisco Góngora and I will continue with all the paths started by him in the Interprofessional, and those that we propose with the Board of Directors to achieve a more profitable and sustainable agriculture,” said Cano.
In his farewell speech, Francisco Góngora said: “This is what I proposed when I accepted the position of president of HORTIESPAÑA: the unification of the sector, but not only of volumes and with larger companies, which also, but of unity of criteria, of synergies in the common sectoral objectives, which are many, more than the non-common ones. I hope that work will continue along these lines and on this concept in the coming years to achieve a more powerful and balanced sector.”
