Spanish persimmon gains access to Chinese market

China and Spain have signed agreement allowing the export of Spanish persimmon and almonds to China. The negotiations began at the end of 2016. With this new protocol, China joins the over 50 countries to which Spain exports persimmons outside the EU. This export opportunity will benefit the producing areas of Spain, which are located mainly in the Valencian Community and Andalusia, with more than 85% and 10% of the production area, respectively, followed by Extremadura, Catalonia, Murcia and Aragon.
Spain already has protocols with China to export citrus, peach, plum and table grapes.
