Primafrio Group celebrates 60 years of commitment to logistics and transport

With this celebration, Grupo Primafrio values the family and entrepreneurial history that has made it an international logistics operator and European leader in logistics and transport of goods at controlled temperatures.

The family business first saw the light of day in Murcia in 1963 marks the 60th anniversary of its founding by valuing the work and efforts that have made it possible to become a leading company through a passion for logistics and transportation and a commitment to service quality, innovation, and sustainability.

In the words of José Esteban Conesa, president of Primafrio and son of the company’s founders: “This year, we want to highlight the progress and growth that we have experienced during these 60 years, while maintaining at all times the legacy and identity of the family business passed down to us by our parents. An identity based on the values of effort, dedication and commitment to the future, always counting on the invaluable support of the thousands of employees, customers and stakeholders who have been part of Grupo Primafrio over the years.”

This extensive experience has positioned Primafrio at the forefront of innovation. The company has also reinforced its commitment to the Region of Murcia, the place where its activity has been established since its constitution, and also to the different places in which it currently operates. To this end, the group has focused its efforts through different channels, especially with the creation of Fundación Primafrio, to contribute to the social, economic and environmental development of society.

In addition, with the aim of celebrating this anniversary, starting in April, the company will launch a programme of activities, both internal and external, which will take place throughout 2023: the design of an image and a specific logo for the celebration of the 60th anniversary, the lettering of vehicles with the commemorative image, the launch of a museum at the headquarters of Grupo Primafrio, the organisation of a photograph exhibition about the founding of the company, and recognition of long-standing employees, among initiatives.

The story we wrote on the road

The company that today forms Grupo Primafrio was founded in April 1963 by José Conesa and Josefina Alcaraz, who began their careers as independent transporters linked to a single fruit and vegetable producer. Owning a single EBRO brand truck, they used it to transport fruit and vegetables from the Murcian orchard to the rest of Spain.

Thanks to José Conesa’s visionary perception about the future and transformation of the fruit and vegetable transport sector, the company started two years later to begin making its first trips abroad, first to France and, later, to England and Germany.
