Al Solimania increases growing area of citrus fruit, potato and onion
Al Solimania (Egypt) was established in 2007, and before that, Soliman family had been working in farming for 30 years. It is the grower, packer and exporter of citrus fruit, pomegranate, potato, garlic, and onion.
“This season, our citrus production has increased by 10%, reaching 13,000 ton,” says Fatimah Elzhraa, export manager. “There are many reasons to believe it is a successful season for citrus fruit, and we meet the demand of our clients providing good quality.”
Indeed, the company has two quality teams that monitor each process and consider every detail: colour, size, aroma, juiciness, etc.
Being the owner of the farm and packinghouse, the company ensures reasonable costs of produce despite the increasing raw material and shipping prices. Thus, Al Solimania fruit are in demand in China and Russia, Europe and Far East.
Apart from citrus fruit, the company is doing investment into onion, spring onion, garlic and potato cultivation, explains Elzhraa. “We export much garlic to Italy and other European countries. We also explore new opportunities; thus, we started artichoke production and see the potential for its export to Italy. Our organization makes efforts to follow the market trends and satisfy the demand of all our clients.”
