A new railway line is planned to connect Vietnam’s Hanoi and other main cities with China allowing cargo trains running at over 200 km an hour to transport goods between the 2 countries. Rail cargo between Vietnam and China over the past 10 months has grown by 58.6% to 607 000 tons. Experts say the rail lines could eventually connect Vietnam, China, Cambodia and Thailand to Europe for the movement of goods. The new line comes as Vietnam’s trade with China has risen to $2.33 billion.
