Biobest scooped the Greentech Innovation award for its new aphid predator, the brown lacewing Micromus angulatus. This generalist predator feeds on all common aphid species found in protected crops. It is tolerant to low temperatures and starts to become active at 10°C. At the same event, the company also presented Trap Eye, a fully automatic sticky trap, which enables the monitoring of pests and beneficial species in greenhouses. A unit can be set up consisting of a solar camera placed in front of a sticky trap; each unit is autonomous, geolocated and affordable.
