Price of Almeria’s green courgette rockets with arrival of cold weather

The arrival of significantly lower temperatures led to a reduction in the supply of green courgette in Week 49. Between Week 47 and Week 49, the price paid to the farmer for courgette increased by 83%, to nearly €0.80/kg. Prices are expected to remain high over the coming weeks in the lead up to Christmas. Nevertheless, compared with the two previous campaigns, average prices are lower than previous years for the same period.
