Spanish mango producers have denounced the “speculative pressures” of supermarket chains, which are offering them as little as 0.20 euros per kilo for “’First Category” fruit.
The general secretary of COAG in Malaga, Antonio Rodríguez, said that the drought during spring has led to smaller fruit sizes and to retailers rejecting entire crops, despite them meeting all the requirements for sanitary controls and quality standards.
