Hidrosoph continues expanding its portfolio in the European fruit and vegetable’s sector
Hidrosoph, the international leader company in efficient watering management integral solutions, has joined the fruit and vegetable’s international trade show Fruit Logistica, that had place in Berlin from 8th to 10th of February, in order to get closer to the global fruit and vegetable producers.
“Fruit Logistica presents itself for us as the perfect platform to take the leap to Europe” confesses Daniel Ribeiro, Managing Director at Hidrosoph. “In Europe we have different projects in Portugal and Spain and several in France but events such as Fruit Logistica are the ones that provide us the opportunity of having access to other European markets of interest such as Austria, Germany or United Kingdom”, says Ribeiro.
This has been the third consecutive participation of the Portuguese enterprise in the most important fruit and vegetable trade show.
By the use of its own software, Irristrat™, the system makes available datum of the field itself to improve the daily management, as well as carry out the analysis and processes’ progress, being able to make a comparison as could be, for example, one between the water quantity that is applied in the crops and the water is actually needed. The provided information, that suppose a valuable information channel between technical and management departments, are susceptible to analyse and serve as a reference to apply the necessary modifications and thus obtain the greatest possible profitability of the crops as much in different plots as in future fields. Besides generating and retaining knowledge in the organization it is an useful tool to distinguish the product by the consumer.
“Fortunately, it is increasingly common that companies of the fruit and vegetable sector get involved in the efficient use of the irrigation water. Knowing the quantity of water that our crops need in each moment and its measurement it is an essential information that can not only help the company to achieve its productive and quality goals, creating knowledge inside the company and reducing present and future threats, sometimes even important savings in consumables, but also allows the company to communicate the use of water in its products objectively”, notes Marta Jiménez, Technical and Commercial Responsible of Hidrosoph in Spain.
“In Spain it is common to hear of efficient or sustainable management of water in corps, although I prefer to use the expression ‘optimized management` as I consider it expresses better the sense of a management that does not lose at any time the focus of why are we watering, but there is still a lot of work to do to make people aware of a more suitable use of water in agriculture, adds Jiménez.
Hidrosoph’s management is supported by more than 20 years of experience in the watering sector, applying its technology to more than a hundred different crops, including fruit and vegetables, both open field and greenhouses, vineyards, olive groves, gardens and even in golf courses. Currently, Hidrosoph implements its system in an area higher to 50.000 hectares, managed for more than 800 users.
