Smurfit Kappa’s ‘LCA Lite’ shows life cycle of packaging

As sustainability becomes a global concern, society and the business world are increasingly aware of how their activities impact the planet. This is a concern that particularly affects the packaging sector, as it is vital to know the carbon footprint of the packaging put on the market. This has led leading sustainable packaging company Smurfit Kappa to develop ‘LCA Lite’, a tool that helps customers make more informed decisions about the packaging they should use to transport and protect their products in a more efficient and sustainable way, based on the types of material with which they are made.

‘LCA Lite’ provides information on the life cycle of packaging to help companies have a more precise idea of ​​the environmental impact that different materials can have. Thanks to this technology, Smurfit Kappa customers can obtain information to know, for example, what the greenhouse gas emissions of their packaging are.
