Blackberry sales surge in UK

British consumers can’t get enough blackberries, with sales of new, improved varieties soaring amidst a growing awareness of the fruit’s health benefits. In the past year, sales of blackberries in the UK reached £51m, up 8% from the previous season.

New varieties offer greater flavour, larger sizes and more health properties. Blackberries are a rich source of vitamin C and contain antioxidants that protect cells from damage and strengthen the immune system.
